The Punishment Does NOT Fit the Crime

Read this carefully, as there is a quiz at the end:

Hill, 56, pleaded guilty to sexually touching native kids as young as three.

His crimes began in the 1970s.

Three of the victims - two nieces and a nephew - are now in their 20s and 30s. The other three - two boys and a girl - are ages six, eight and 11.

Hill is a non-native who has been married for 32 years to a Westbank band member and has lived on the reserve for 15 years.

All the victims were native children, who were either related to Hill or were his neighbours. None of the victims can be identified.

Court heard descriptions from the three adult victims from prosecutor Martin Nadon.

The man who is now 35 was assaulted by Hill from the time he was four or five until he was 14. The assaults included anal and oral sex.

At one point, Hill used a battery charger to make sparks, warning the boy that he would administer electric shocks if the boy ever talked to anyone about the assaults..

The victim estimated he was assaulted by Hill 200 times.

A niece, now 24, said Hill had sex with her between the ages of five and 11. "She just remembered that it (intercourse) hurt a lot," said Nadon.

"She was crying because it hurt so much, but she thought it was OK because Hill was her uncle. After one episode, she was limping because of the pain, but told others she had fallen and hurt her leg."

She said Hill told her that if she ever told, her father wouldn't love her anymore and her family would be ashamed.

If it's three-and-a-half years in which the kids family, friends and neighbors can "visit" him, that would work.

On day 1,276 they can administer the death penalty. Or on day 1,278, when he's settling back in at home.

I know that justice will find this evil wretch no matter what, and it will be a complete surprise.

wHaT???? 3 1/2 years? OMG. Now what kind of message does this send to other potential perverts out there? That these crimes are worth committing because you're only gonna get a slap on the wrist and a few years. This is so unfair...those kids live with that for the rest of their lives as he gets a mere 3 years.
Dammit.

Disgusting, isn't it? I can't even fathom what I would do if someone harmed my child in this way - it would certainly cost this pervert more than 3 1/2 years of jail time.

Unbelievable, when i first read his crime, i thought the guy is in for a long time but 3 and a half years is absolutely shocking. I think even life sentence is a gift in europeon countries because i am from pakistan and i know even one rape could even see you hanging in a years time. for me he deserves to be hanged so noone ever even attempt these crimes again. 3 1/2 is just pathetic

it sickens me too. someone close to me was convicted of attempted stat rape and was sentenced to jail time, probabtion, and is considered a high risk to reoffend in the state we live in and has his name, description, where he lives, and where he works published in the paper every time he moves for 10 years. yet, his dad, who was convicted of 3 counts of sexual assault on a minor(his son) and 2 counts of first degree sexual assault (again, on his son), did 10 years in prion yes, and has to register everytime he moves for ten years, but his info is not printed in the paper. messed up huh?
